Fetish priest sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for impregnating daughter

A fetish priest named Agya Koo has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Bekwai Circuit Court in the Ashanti Region for impregnating his daughter and pressuring her to terminate three pregnancies.

The priest confessed to engaging in sexual relations with his 20-year-old daughter for over five years, a situation that was reported by his ex-wife.

The victim revealed that her father exploited her under the pretence of freeing her from a spiritual marriage. He claimed that a river spirit was wed to her and was using him to have sex with her, even threatening that she would die if she revealed their relationship.

The daughter mentioned that her father would occasionally assault her in the bush while they were collecting herbs.

Agya Koo admitted to coercing his daughter into falsely accusing another boy of being the father of her pregnancy, leading to the boy being penalised.
