GPL: Kotoko coach braces for tough battle against Bechem United

Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, is gearing up for what he anticipates will be a challenging encounter as his team faces Bechem United in the seventh week of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to welcome the Hunters to the Baba Yara Stadium for matchday seven of the domestic top-flight.

Ogum acknowledges the formidable nature of Bechem United, describing them as a physically resilient side with an unyielding spirit.

“We all know Bechem is a solid and very physical side, which is typical of them. They have a very die hard spirit where they want to stretch the game to the end and matches between these two sides have always been very exciting and very unpredictable and very uncompromising”

“To me, we have to be very aggressive, very committed, very determined and make sure that we make it simple on the day. I always tell them that beautiful things are simple and simple things are beautiful, we just have to make sure that we create the spaces and use the spaces and connect to the right players in position to score at the right time” he said.

He emphasized that clashes between the two teams have historically been exciting, unpredictable, and fiercely contested.

In preparation for the upcoming match, Ogum stressed the need for his team to exhibit aggression, commitment, and determination, aiming to keep their approach uncomplicated.

He emphasized the importance of creating and using spaces efficiently while connecting with the right players to score at the opportune moments.

Asante Kotoko currently occupies the 7th position on the league standings, amassing 9 points, while Bechem United holds the 12th spot with 7 points after six games.

The stage is set for an engaging contest between the two sides as they seek to improve their standings in the Ghana Premier League.
