CAS dismisses King Faisal’s appeal against GFA’s decision in Tamale City case

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected King Faisal FC’s appeal against the decision made by the Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

In an announcement made on Friday, October 27, 2023, CAS affirmed the ruling of the GFA’s Appeals Committee in the case involving King Faisal FC and Tamale City FC.

According to the CAS ruling, the costs related to arbitration, which will be determined and provided separately to the involved parties by the CAS Court Office, will be entirely covered by Kumasi Faisal FC.

King Faisal FC had already paid a fee of CHF45,000 to CAS at the commencement of the case.

The decision also specified that King Faisal FC will bear its own costs and is directed to pay the GFA a total of CHF 4,000 (four thousand Swiss Francs) to contribute to the GFA’s legal fees and other expenses associated with the arbitration proceedings.

King Faisal is currently competing in the Division One League Zone 2 after being relegated following the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
