GPL Week 7: Bibiani Gold Stars 1-1 Hearts of Oak

Bibiani Gold Stars match week seven encounter against Accra Hearts of Oak ended 1-1 at the Dun’s Park on Saturday afternoon. 

Gold Stars started the game in 8th place with 8 points on the league table while Hearts of Oak is 17th with 5 points.

The home side’s build-up in the early stages was very slow and Hearts of Oak struggled to take control of the midfield.

As the game progressed both teams started adding intensity to their play in search of the first goal.

The first half ended with both teams heading to the dressing room with no goals.

After the break, Bibiani Gold Stars and Hearts of Oak pushed each other hard in search for a goal.

Gold Stars’ backline was alert to stop Hearts of Oak from breaking the deadlock. Kashala Ramos pass to a teammate in the box was swiftly cut out.

Maccarthy Appiah scored in the 90+1 minute to give the home side the lead. However, their jubilation was cut short when Hamza Issah’s strike a few seconds later saved the Phobians from defeat.

Gold Stars will play Karela United in their next league game. Hearts of Oak will face champions Medeamaat home.
