We’ll collect every pesewa owed — ECG MD vows
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is leaving no stone unturned in collecting every money owed by its customers.
“The truth of the matter is whatever is consumed, I’ll still collect it after the rainy season”, EGC Managing Director (MD), Mr. Samuel Dubik Mahama vowed on PM Express monitored by Kapital Online Team.
According to the MD, the ECG is running at a loss anytime the rain sets in, hence affecting the operations of the state-owned organization.
“Before the rain set in, ECG was averaging between Ghc40 to Ghc50 a day but now that you see rain, we are down by Ghc 25 million”, Mr. Mahama revealed to the host of the show.
“Electricity is seasonal, there is a downtown and downtime when the weather is cool”
EGC early this year embarked on a nationwide disconnection due to the then-whooping sum of money consumers were owing.
