The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana says it has no plans to create twenty-five (25) constituencies in addition to the already 275 ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Contrary to media reports, except for Guan, the Commission has taken no decision yet calling the public to discard such information in the media.
“The Commission wishes to state the information for the public that is creating one constituency, which is the Guan Constituency in the Oti Region”, a statement issued and signed by the Commission’s Acting Head, Public Affairs, Michael Boadu clarifies.
Adding: “We urge the public to disregard this statement”
