Berekum Chelsea stunned Medeama by winning 1-0 at the Tarkwa Akoon Park in match week 10 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
That means the Yellow and Mauves have suffered their first home defeat of the season, as their hopes maintaining their top two place wades off.
The Berekum Blues struck early in the first half to claim all three points and move to second on the league table with 16 points from 10 games.
Meanwhile, the defeat means Medeama move from second to sixth also with 16 points.
Berekum Chelsea got the winning goal 21 minutes into the game when former Asante Kotoko winger Stephen Amankona found the back of the net.
The visitors held on to win 1-0 as Medeama’s fight for the equalizer did not work out.
Medeama will play as guests to Asante Kotoko next Sunday in match week 11 of the Ghana Premier League while Berekum Chelsea play at home against Legon Cities the same day.
