Accra Hearts of Oak has officially appointed Abdul Rahim Bashiru, the club’s assistant coach, as the acting head coach.
The decision comes in the wake of the mutual termination of the contract between the club and the Dutch head coach, Martinus Koopman, on Tuesday afternoon.
Abdul Rahim Bashiru, formerly the coach of Legon Cities, has been entrusted with the coaching duties for Hearts of Oak’s senior team with immediate effect.
The announcement was made by the club’s board of directors, and Bashiru expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him during fruitful discussions with the management.
His inaugural assignment in his new role will be against Accra Lions on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
The match will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium and marks a significant moment in Bashiru’s coaching career as he leads Hearts of Oak in the upcoming fixture.
