Heal Komfo Anokye: People are donating as low as Ghc1 – CEO discloses

The Heal Komfo Anokye project being embarked on by the Asantehene,
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has attracted lots of interest from de la crème as well as the downtrodden, so to speak.

According to the Chief Executive, the CEO of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), the well-to-do in society are contributing higher amounts of money, so the ‘poor’ are doing their part to support the funding of the project.

Prof. Dr. Otchere Addai-Mensah disclosed that his outfit has received as little as One Ghana Cedis (Ghc1) from the public.

‘People are showing support for this initiative, we continue to receive support from all walks of life. We have received all kinds of support, but the least we have received is One Ghana Cedis. They are willing to help, and we welcome every amount, the CEO told Kapital News.

KATH currently faces infrastructure deficiencies that significantly impact healthcare delivery, with essential machines out of order.

In response to the challenges, the Asante monarch initiated the campaign to raise GH¢10 million for the hospital.

Speaking after the NPP donated GH¢200,000 to the initiative, Mr. Kodua urged corporate bodies to contribute toward the cause.
