Don’t do anything to bring Parliament down; the media is watching us — MPs told
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has implored Members of Parliament (MPs) against doing things that will bring the name of the august House into disruption.
He explains that the Media are a high alert monitoring the activities of lawmakers, so members should avoid all clandestine moves.
“We cannot overlook the fact that the media and public auditors of ethics, performance, and standards monitor us constantly. We cannot remain oblivious to their watchful eyes; it is about time we wake up to this reality.
“As leaders, it is our duty. We can earn a badge of honor beyond the mere title of Honorable. Let us strive to be known for Honorable deeds and character, not just our appended labels,” Mr. Bagbin made the appeal when he addressed MPs at the opening of the 2023 two-day post-budget Workshop held at Parliament House, Accra.
Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin reminded the 275 MPs of their constitutional duties and urged them to focus on parliamentary duties.
