2024-25 Champions League draw: Yanga and Al Hilal battle in the East as Raja lands FAR

The draw for the 61st edition of the CAF Champions League was conducted in Egypt on mid-morning at the capital, Cairo.

Twelve times winners and defending champions Al Ahly was placed in Group C against last seasons group stage opponents, Belouizdad. Orlando Pirates and Stade Abidjan from South Africa and Ivory Coast are the other two teams in the group.

Group A contains East Africa’s Young Africans from Tanzania and Al Hilal of Sudan. 5 times winners, TP Mazembe of DR congo Algerian champions MC Alger are the other two teams in the group.

Group B will see two Moroccan clubs FAR Rabat and Raja Casablanca battle for supremacy. South Africans big boys Mamelodi Sundowns and Congolese minnows AS Maniema complete the group.

Sagrada Esperanca of Angola, Djoliba AC from Mali, Pyramids of Egypt and Esperance Sportive de Tunis are set to battle for the two slots.

Al Ahly remains the favourites to defend their title but many good teams are expected to give them a good run for their money.
