The maiden edition of the Democracy Cup was aimed at promoting parliamentary democracy through sports.

The fomer Nations FC striker scored his second goal against the Porcupine Warriors after scoring the winner for Nations in Week 23 of the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League.
Peter Amidu’s 60th minute strike made it 2-1 to Asante Kotoko and it proved to be the winner.
The game had a huge significance as it served as a big pre-season game for both sides. Asante Kotoko will meet MLS side DC United for a friendly game as the winner was assured a game against the USA team.
The 2024 General Election will be held on Saturday 7th December 2024.
