The 2026 FIFA Club World Cup is a little over three months before it kicks off. The finances of the competition have been announced with FIFA revealing a whooping 1 Billion USD for the 32 clubs participating.
European clubs are super rich and will not be rejoicing over the appearance fee but will be targeting the $100m win package.
FIFA’s announcement will certainly excite Africa and the other parts of the world will enjoy the decision.
The four African teams representing the continent are Egypt’s Al Ahly, Morocco’s Wydad Athletic, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Esperance du Tunis of Tunisia. Each of them will receive a whooping $10M as an appearance fee.
Besides, any win in the group stage will fetch a whooping $2M. This is a piece of incredible news from FIFA to the African clubs as they have failed to catch the attention of the football world.
The maiden edition of the expanded 2025 Club World Cup will be probably the biggest platform for African clubs to showcase their worth.
One could return home with $20M if they progress from the group stage.
The tournament is scheduled to be played in the United States from June 14 to July 13, 2025.
