The time is almost up for national teams to return to action after four months of absence. The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers are in full swing across the globe.

In Africa, four rounds of games have been played with six more before all the groups are decided.

Ghana in Group I sits second trialing leaders Comoros only on goals difference. The two teams have each won 9 points apiece.

Ghana will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium in week 5 before travelling to Morocco to face Madagascar in week 6.

Head coach Otto Addo is expected to name his squad before the close of the week. English Premier League contingency of Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Tariq Lamptey and Thomas Partey are all expected to be included.

Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed Salisu Elisha Owusu and Gideon Mensah of French Ligue 1 will be included.

Laliga 2 side Lugo’s forward Jerry Afriyie and veteran Dede Ayew of Le Havre in France are expected to be called up.

Two Ghana Premier League stars are to be included, per close sources as players from the MLS are also expected.
