2026 World Cup qualifiers (Round 6)
Match: Madagascar v Ghana
Venue: Grande Stade Al-Hociema (Morocco)
Time: 7 pm
Madagascar has rested four days before Ghana’s clash compared to the Black Stars’ two.
Madagascar’s schooling at Central Africa Republic in Morocco has suddenly changed everyone’s mentality about their fixture against Ghana on Monday night at the Grande Stade Al-Hociema in Morocco.
It was a smooth win to help them move to the top of the table until Ghana battered and abused Chad on Friday night at the Accra Sports Stadium to leapfrog them.
It is time for the two teams on top of Group I to face each other. It is time for Madagascar and Ghana to show the reason why they must be on top until September when the qualifiers will be continued.
Otto Addo’s men had their mojo back as four different players scored against Chad. Ghana’s biggest problem recently was scoring although the Black Stars had so many quality forwards.
Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus and Ernest Nuamah are all expected to start on Monday night. The attacking quintet suffocated Chad even though they were not difficult opponents. Otto Addo will want his men to repeat the same eagerness and freedom against Chad.
Hearts of Oak’s goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who at 32 made his debut against Chad, is expected to retain his position for the Black Stars. The goalkeeper did not face much trouble on Friday in Accra but must expect fireworks from Madagascar’s forward.
Otto Addo believes Madagascar’s clash is a real test for Ghana.
Young Boys Rayan Raveloson on the left-hand side of Madagascar’s attack will pose a huge threat. His confidence is at an all-time high after scoring a brace against Central Africa Republic in the 4-1 win.
55-year-old French tactician Corentin Martins is confident his side can shock Ghana and occupy the top spot after matchday 6.
