Real Madrid’s visit to Campo de Futfol de Vallecas in Madrid had promised to be a blockbuster.

The Madrid derby lived up to its billing as the game ended 3-3. Rayo has won their last two games in all competitions facing Real Madrid yet many thought it was going to be a walk in the park for the La Liga and European champions.

The game could not wait for too long for action as the home side struck in the 4th minute via midfielder Unai Lopez.

Surprisingly, 26-year-old Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin, in the 36th minute, jumped the highest inside the box to meet a perfectly executed corner kick from Isi Palazon. Mumin’s header bounced off the ground and went inside the right post behind Courtois to make it 2-0 to Rayo Vallecano.

Real Madrid did not waste time and instantly staged a comeback via Valverde and Bellingham’s goals in the 39th and 45th minutes, respectively.

Rodrygo Goes in the second half put Los Blancos ahead with 10 minutes played. Isi Palazon, in the midway through the second half, scored to make it 3-3.

Real Madrid and Rayo both had the opportunity to carry the day but failed.
