Sound engineer and singer Elijah Nortey Thompson, known as De Thompson DDT, has shared his excitement over the viral success of his song “Honorable Waawe.”
The song, which gained popularity after the December 7 election, has become one of his most successful tracks.
In an interview with Amansan Krakye, De Thompson DDT expressed surprise at the song’s widespread success, noting impressive streaming numbers and its popularity on platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
He mentioned that despite not promoting the song or paying for airplay, “Honorable Waawe” has become a street anthem, trending without traditional promotional efforts. The song’s viral success has taken him far, even beyond Ghana.
