The Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Usyk once again defeated British boxer Tyson Fury in another blockbuster bout that confirmed that the duo are the best boxers currently in the world.
At the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an epic encounter was predicted by the connoisseurs of heavyweight boxing, and it lived up to its billing.
Tyson Fury closed the huge gap that separated the two when they met earlier in May 2024 where Usyk easily won. The contest was very close on Saturday night as both boxers fought and showed why they deserved the titles.
Usyk dominated most of the rounds, but there was not much difference as his tough mentality proved to be the decider. After a tactical display and 100% focus throughout the 12 rounds, all the judges scored 116 to 112 in favour of Oleksandr Usyk.
After the unforgettable bout, 27-year-old Daniel Dubois who has already lost to Usyk zoomed straight into the ring and dared Usyk to face him again in 2025.
The Briton shouted: “Usyk I want my revenge, I want my revenge. I want my revenge for the last time. Let’s go.
“Where is Frank, let it happen?”
Usyk retorted, “Your Excellency, make me fight with Daniel Dubois, thank you so much.
“Yeah, no problem. I am ready for the next fight. No problem.”
It remains unknown what is next for Tyson Fury who has suffered back-to-back defeats against Usyk. Many have demanded that he and Joshua do all British affairs in 2025, as they have waited for almost a decade for that bout.
Oleksandr Usyk, 37, retained his belts via unanimous decision. He remains unbeaten in his career and has held the undisputed championship in two weight classes, at cruiserweight and heavyweight, and has been reigning as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from May until now.
