Sani Mohammed, 18, has signed for Danish side Horsens. The teenager who recently signed for the Accra-based club has swapped the GPL for Europe.

The midfielder joined Hearts of Oak from Division Two side Soccer 4Souls ahead of the 2024/25 season. The youngster’s rise to the top is so fast as a year ago, he was playing in the third tier of Ghanaian football.

His signing drew much criticism from Hearts of Oak’s fans because they thought the club’s recruitment was not going to lead them to the promised land.

The talented left-footed midfielder has played every league game for the club (1117 minutes) except the defeats to Basake Holy Stars and Asante Kotoko showing how important he is to Aboubakar Ouattara’s side.

He provided two assists for Hearts of Oak in the club’s 2-1 victory at Wenchi Park against Young Apostles in week 6 of the GPL.

Hearts of Oak is set to receive 250,000 euros as the fee for the midfielder’s permanent deal.

Horsens sits 4th on the Danish 1st Division Table after amassing 31 points from 18 games. They are 14 points behind leaders Odense with their mind firmly set on promotion to the Danish Superliga.
