Sampson Eduku fully smiled when posing with Asante Kotoko’s famous red jersey. He was full of excitement because his dream move had finally been completed.
The formal Samartex and Tamale City striker has signed a year-and-a-half deal with the Porcupine Warriors.
Asante Kotoko’s squad was so unbalanced because it was only Albert Amoah who was banging in the goals for the club. The goals were so scarce that Prosper Narteh Ogum and his coaching staff decided to add strikers to the team in the second transfer window of the season.
Kwame Poku who joined the club in the second Transfer Window has already announced his presence with two goals in two games in the GPL. Prosper Ogum will expect the experienced Eduku to hit the ground running when he wears the red jersey in the second round of the season.
Asante Kokoto announced the signing of Sampson Eduku on X, “Eduku is a warrior” and “There is a New Fox in the Box”
The 29-year-old Sekondi-Takoradi born expressed his delight in joining the Porcupine Warriors.
“It feels amazing to join a club as big as Kotoko. This is a massive step in my career, and I’m fully aware of the expectations that come with playing for this great club. I’m here to work hard, score goals, and help the team achieve its ambitions.”
His signing means Albert Amoah and Kwame Poku have gotten a huge competition.
However, Eduku welcomed it from the deadly duo of Albert Amoah and Kwame Opoku, stating, “Competing with talented players will only push me to be better. I relish competition, and I’m ready to give my best for this great club,” he added.
Sampson Eduku has played in Ghana, Guinea and Iraq for clubs like Sekondi Hasaacas, Karela United, Elmina Sharks, FC Samartex, Tamale City, Guinean side Club Industriel de Kamsar and Iraqi teams; Al-Quwa Al-Jaw nad Al-Hedod SC which was his last club before becoming free agent in July 2024.
