George Afriyie served as the vice to Kwesi Nyantakyi during the latter’s reign as the president of Ghana football.

Truthfully, the pair elevated Ghanaian football to a different level as it was during Nyantakyi’s era that Ghana qualified for its first FIFA World Cup in 2006. Ghana won the U20 FIFA World Cup in 2009 during Nyantakyi’s days. Life in football was so better for Ghanaians.

However, things have turned sour under the current administration led by Kurt Okraku, culminating in Ghana missing AFCON 2025, which is the first time in 20 years the nation won’t participate in the coveted competition.

The former vice president, George Afriyie, has revealed that there is not much time for anyone to joke with Ghanaian football again.

“Where we are, there’s no time for trial and error. We need someone who can lead Ghana football,” George said.

This is not the first time George Afriyie has been heard speaking about Ghanaian football needing urgent changes at the helm.

“Those running our football are inexperienced.” – George Afriyie added.

The former vice president thinks the administration led by Kurt Okraku is full of inexperienced lads.

Ghanaian football has seen a sharp decline in recent years, with every department ceasing to work.

The current administration will end in 2017 which means Kurt will step down because the constitution doesn’t allow anyone to spend more than 8 years on the FA’s hot seat.
