Former Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Gargo has disclosed that Black Stars head coach Otto Addo must also leave since his two lieutenants are going to be sacked, per GFA Communication Director Henry Asante Twum.

ExBkack stars defender John Paintsil and Moroccan-German coach Joseph Laumann are Otto Addo’s assistant coaches since his return in March 2024.

The duo are set to lose their roles after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the AFCON 2025.

Mohammed Gago, former Black Stars defender demanded that Otto Addo must go with his deputies.

“Whenever a team or any football team wants to dismiss the technical team, I think it starts from the head coach because you are so responsible for what is happening.

“You give instructions to your assistants for them to carry on the business of the day. It being the training session, it being the preparation and otherwise.

“So I think if that is going to happen, then the entire technical team must go so they can bring in a new technical team who probably can do better, but not sack the assistants and leave the head coach. Because, as I’m saying, in some of his post-match interviews, he took responsibility for everything that happened,” Gago said on Citi Sports in an interview.

Many Ghanaians share the same ideas with Mo Gago because it is so difficult to see an assistant coach being sacked while the head coach remains at the helm of affairs.
