Black Stars’ 2024 performances were disastrous as the team failed to secure a slot in the 2025 AFCON to be played between December 2025 and January 2026.

After the abysmal qualifiers where Ghana did not record a single win against Angola, Sudan and Niger, massive changes were needed at the helm of the team.

The changes got underway with the Ghana Football Association dissolving the management team of the Black Stars.

A new management committee chaired by the astute football administrator Randy Abbey and former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has been set up. Also, Medeama SC’s owner Moses Armah Parker is part of the 5 member committee of the senior national team.  Samartex’s owner Duah Nsenkyire and the chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association Samuel Aboabire complete the committee.

These experienced football gurus are expected to restore the team to its former glory. Their biggest job now is to help the team qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

It has been rumoured that Otto Addo’s lieutenants, Joseph Laumann and John Pintsil, the Black Stars assistant coaches of Black Stars are to be sacked and replaced with a Serbian and a German.

Otto Addo, the head coach has received severe criticism lately for failing to qualify Ghana for the 36th edition of the AFCON but it seems that the FA will allow him to continue his job.
