African Football: Al Ahly ranked best African club in 2024 by IFFHS

Defending champions of the CAF Champions League and Egyptian Premier League, Al Ahly has been ranked as the best team of 2024 in African club football. The Cairo-based club is ranked the 34th best overall in the world.

CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Super Cup winners Zamalek are the second best of 2024 in Africa and 83rd in the world.

Pyramids, who had a disastrous debut in the 2023-24 CAF Champions League, is 3rd on the list. The Cairo club finished second in the Egyptian Premier League. Pyramids was ranked the 99th-best team in the world in 2024.

Runner-up of the CAF Confederation Cup, RS Berkane is 4th and Esperance Tunis, who finished as the runner-up in the CAF Champions League, completes the top 5.

AS FAR, who fought for the Moroccan Botola title but eventually lost to Raja Casablanca, are ranked 6th and 174 in the world.

Raja Casablanca, Mamelodi Sundowns, Young Africans and Belouizdad complete the top 10 best-ranked African teams in 2024 by IFFHS.
