Former Al Ahly Cairo and Egyptian bonafide midfielder Mohamed Aboutrika were full of praise for his countryman Omar Marmoush after the forward scored a 14-minute hattrick on Saturday afternoon in the EPL against Newcastle.
The former Frankfurt forward had yet to register a goal for the defending after making two appearances for Pep’s side.
The visit of Newcastle United promised to be a cagey affair, but Marmoush made sure the day was going to be an ordinary one after he netted a fantastic first-half hattrick.
Mohamed Aboutrika who is now a pundit on BEIN Sports in Qatar after Omar Marmoush’s hat-trick humorously said, “The Egyptian turned it into the Egyptian League, not the English League.”
Egyptians are extremely happy with the performances of their two biggest stars in England, with Mohamed Salah stealing the attention in the ongoing season almost every matchday. The Liverpool forward has scored 22 goals and provided a whooping 14 assists in 24 matches for the league leaders.
Omar Marmoush was challenging Harry Kane for the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga in Germany before sealing an €80m move to Manchester City to continue his career.
Marmoush is expected to ease Erling Haaland’s burden in terms of goalscoring for Manchester City. The Norwegian has been almost the only person who supplies the Citizens goals, but Marmoush’s arrival is set to help them score many goals.
