Ghana’s two most glamorous clubs, Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have requested a slot each on the Ghana Football Executive Council in a bid to help revive Ghana’s fainting football.

The killing of Pooley at Nsoatre has halted the Ghana Premier League with many people requesting a complete reset in the game.

However, the General Manager of Aduana Stars and veteran football administrator, Takyi Arhin, has disagreed with the demands of the two big clubs for a place each in the GFA EXCO.

“Today, if Kotoko is playing, you can count the fans in the stadium within three minutes. The same applies to Hearts of Oak. We used to use Kotoko and Hearts for budgeting, but that’s no longer the case. How many times have Kotoko and Hearts won the league in the last 10 years?” Takyi Arhin said in an interview on Pure FM.

“We are not justifying what happened in Nsoatre; we condemn it, and we mourn with the family. But don’t use this tragedy to demand an Exco slot just because you are the most glamorous club. That argument is neither here nor there. They are like any other club in the country,” he concluded.

Ghana football is indeed a huge mess and it needs action from someone who will be so selfless and willing to lead the redemption road.
