“The goal remains making African football globally competitive, stabilizing finances, and investing in infrastructure,” Patrice Motsepe said after the victory.

On Wednesday at the 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly in Cairo, South African billionaire Dr Patrice Motsepe was reelected unopposed as the presidsnt of the Confederation of African Football for the second term.

His first term ended in 2025 and will continue until 2029 when the second expires.

Patrice Motsepe will continue as CAF President until 2029 after securing a second term.

 

Motsepe’s achievements

Prizemoney for major tournaments, including the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, has increased immensely, alongside enhanced financial support for Member Associations.

Under Motsepe’s administration, the organization has set many records set many records including the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire 2023, attracting a record 1.4 billion viewers worldwide.

Football development across the continent is clear for the lovers of the game to see from juvenile level to senior level.
