Dreams FC’s veteran head coach, Abdul-Karim Zito, has been tipped to replace Prosper Ogum Narteh as the head coach of Asante Kotoko.

The 64-year-old former right-back for Ghana and Asante Kotoko is arguably the best Ghanaian coach currently after magically transforming Dreams FC.

The Still Believe reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2023-24 season, losing to eventual winners Zamalek 3-0 on aggregate.

Asante Kotoko, on Easter Monday,, parted ways with their head coach Prosper Ogum Narteh after winning just a point in their last three games.

The Porcupine Warriors’ back-to-back defeats (3-0 against Accra Lions) and (2-0 against Nations FC) were preceded by a dull and disappointing 1-1 draw against Bechem United in Kumasi.

These results have almost killed the club’s chances of winning the Ghana Premier League as they now trail the leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by 6 points.

Asante Kotoko sits in fourth with their destiny, not even in their own hands for the title. The club can win all their six league games left and will still not win the title.

Abdul-Karim Zito was part of Asante Kotoko’s squad that won the CAF Champions League in 1983 and is expected to take over the Porcupine Warriors for the rest of the season, per multiple reports.
