Asante Kotoko’s interim head coach, Abdul-Karim Zito, met the press officially for the first time on Wednesday morning. He briefed the media and the Kotoko family in toto.
The 64-year-old former right for the Porcupine Warriors sounded optimistic at his new home when he was quizzed about the club’s chances of winning the league.
“Getting to the top of the league table is difficult but not impossible.
“And it is never over until the end,” Zito said
Abdul-Karim Zito’s words are so refreshing after a disastrous two weeks of heartbreaks as the club failed to win any of their last three games at this crucial moment.
Head coach Prosper Ogum was sacrificed by the club and Zito has replaced him. The Communications Director of the club, Sarfo Duku, revealed that the club will chase both the league and the MTN FA Cup surprisingly.
With just 6 games to ed the league, Asante Kotoko is 6 points behind Bibiani Gold Stars and must win all six games left to stand any chance of winning it.
Karim Zito will face Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday in his first game and travel to Accra to face their rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
