Young Apostles’ president Anim Addo has suggested that Asamoah be made the striker’s head coach of the Black Stars.

Speaking to Sporty FM, the former Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Sammy Anim Addo said, “These boys, especially in the attack, Semenyo and co, they idolise Asamoah Gyan. So, imagine him having a session”.

“I believe it’s time we make him the strikers’ coach because we have realised that sometimes the goals will not be coming, and the football world is changing. A lot of clubs now have strikers’ coaches. So I will use this platform to plead with the authorities, the Ministries, the FA leadership, and Dr. Randy Abbey,” Anim Addo suggested.

Asamoah Gyan, 39, became famous for his crucial roles in Ghana’s success between 2006 and 2019. The striker was extremely dangerous for opponents as his presence made opposition defenders shiver whenever they faced Ghana.

The all-time top scorer for Ghana was blessed with pace, dribbling, aggression, jumping and finishing. His calibre is what Ghana is looking for now. The goals have dried up since he retired in 2019.

Ghana is a nation not blessed with strikers, so Asamoah Gyan’s presence was a real blessing, and his departure has been disastrous.
