A violent clash between military men and mourners at Nyinahin, in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, has left one person dead and three others injured.

According to sources, the incident occurred when mourners were on their way to a cemetery and confronted a group of military officers.

The troops approached one of the mourners and asked that he remove his camouflage clothing immediately.

The guy reportedly agreed to remove the top but refused to take off the trousers, claiming that doing so would leave him fully naked.

The dispute turned into a major confrontation, in which gunshots were fired. The guy was allegedly shot in the head, while three others were reportedly injured by stones and stray gunshots.

The soldiers reportedly sped off after the incident.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be made public, while the injured have been taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical care.
