Kennedy Agyapong recently announced his intentions to contest for the NPP flagbearership and boldly declared that nobody can stop him with his decision.

“I am taking this opportunity to inform all that I am going to contest; nobody can stop me from doing that. They should be ready. We were part of those who built the party and sacrificed for it,” Ken said.

“We will also regroup ourselves, at the appropriate time, we will do whatever we have to do for the party, and anything that will improve our chances,” he concluded.

Already, Alhaji Bawumia, who led the party in their sticky defeat in the 2024 General Elections, will contest even though he has yet to officially declare it.

On Friday morning, Dr Yaw Adutwum, the Education Minister of the erstwhile administration, via his Facebook wall announced his intentions to contest the NPP flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 General Elections.

He wrote, “The silence of the noise, one man’s record speaks louder than mere campaign chants. One man’s impact echoes across every region. One man’s vision is what Ghana needs for a total Ghanaian transformation,” the text on the artwork read, accompanied by the hashtag #TheAdutwumFactor.

Adutwum, the Bosomtwe Constituency Minister’s message will surely hint at his intentions of becoming Ghana’s president sooner or later, as it has been speculated for almost four years.

Many gurus of the party will come out declaring their intentions to lead the party.

Former Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong is also interested in leading the party, and he is expected to make an announcement sooner or later.

NPP will look forward to avoiding the embarrassing defeat they suffered at the hands of NDC in the 2024 Elections in 2028.  The battle to lead the party is expected to be so intense and fiercely contested.
