Cassper Nyovest undoubtedly is a household name in South African music after selling millions of albums across the world. AKA, who passed away two years ago, was too hot to be handled by Cassper Nyovest.
In a recent interview shared by TikTokker, ts.resego, when the “Mama I Made It” hit star, Cassper, was forced to name his favourite AKA songs, he mentioned AKA’s banger, “All Eyes On Me” and “Simp Dope”.
Cassper spoke pretty well about how great the track was, mentioning how competitive the song was.
“It’s a great song, it was at the peak of our competitiveness before it became a serious beef. It was song for song with me and him, and then he dropped this amazing record, and I was like, ‘What am I going to do after this?’ because I didn’t have songs like that. It probably inspired Baby Girl’, he said.
Cassper, however, recalled a moment when he and the late AKA had a high-five moment.
“We got a chance to play in the same team because of Big Zulu, and I scored this amazing goal. We went through to the finals, then he and I had a high-five moment,” Cassper said.
Kiernan Forbes, known by his stage name as AKA, was killed along with his close friend, the chef and entrepreneur Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, on 10th February 2023 outside a restaurant in the coastal city of Durban.
The friends were on their way to a nightclub for a performance as part of Forbes’ birthday celebrations when they were shot. AKA is known for hit songs like, Congratulate Me, Fela in Versace, Baddest, All Eyes on Me and Sim Dope among so many great tracks.
