Moliy Ama Montgomery is ranked as the 9th African artist to have the most views on YouTube in terms of music at the end of every month. The 23-year-old Ghanaian-American Afrobeat and Dancehall artist has risen to the top of her game in a space of two years. Her hit track Shake it to the Max earned a 25th position in the UK Singles chart on 2nd May 2025. The song peaked at number 1 in the UK Afrobeat Singles Chart as well. Moliy has 45M monthly views on YouTube thanks to her big hit, ”Shake it to the Max”. Ama is the only Ghanaian artist to have made the top 20 with Nigeria dominating.
Nigeria’s Rema tops the list with 391m views. Morocco’s Saad Lamjarred sits second with monthly views of 187m. Tunisia’s Balti Mohamed Salah is ranked third, having enjoyed 136m views on YouTube last month. Nigeria’s CKay had 133m views as Egyptian singer Sherine Mohamed completed the top 5 with 98.5m views.
