Dada KD’s death was very shocking because no one had heard of his sickness, no one had spotted his struggles and depression. Dada Kd was confirmed dead on Friday night after battling a very short illness. He was confirmed dead at Gbawe Hospital in the Greater Accra Region. Ghanaians are mourning as one of their favourite highlife stars has left the entertainment scene forever.

Highlife superstar Rex Omar, who enjoyed hit after hit in the 1990s and early 2000s, has expressed his disappointment in the struggles entertainers go through in Ghana.

On his Facebook wall, the veteran artist wrote, “A lot of creatives are battling depression in Ghana, RIP KD”.

Many Ghanaian creatives have been struggling to earn financial rewards for their work, which makes life extremely difficult for them.

In an interview from one of the late Dada KDS’s entourage revealed that the ‘Fatia fata Nkrumah’ hitmaker has been complaining of battling financial issues. Also, he complained of emotional stress and depression.

Rex Omar was recently appointed as the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts of Ghana by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
