Tanzanian side Simba SC is facing scrutiny from the Confederation of  African Football after their defeat in the CAF Confederation Cup final to RS Berkane, the Moroccan champions.

The loss has overshadowed the Tanzanian team, with reports suggesting that Simba’s fans and officials sought to confront the Mauritanian refereeing team, headed by Dahane Beida, in the arbitration room after the game.

This unrest stemmed from controversial calls, notably the red card issued to Simba’s midfielder Yusuph Kagoma and the ejection of the assistant coach.

Security personnel and event organisers had to step in to manage the situation in the dressing room corridor and prevent further escalation.

In addition, Berkane has filed a complaint against Simba for various organisational issues, including a significant delay at the airport upon their arrival.

RS Berkane lifted their third CAF Confederation Cup title after winning 3-1 on aggregate in the finals.

The Moroccans won 2-0 in the first leg in Berkane and drew 1-1 in Zanzibar on Sunday, where the game was filled with many controversies.
