Vice Chairman of Black Stars, Stephen Appiah, has expressed his excitement about Ghana’s chances in the qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black stars in Group I currently sit top after winning 15 points from a possible 18.
In matchdays 5 and 6, Ghana dismantled Chad and Madagascar to take full control of the group. The performances in those two games were awesome as it convinced the former Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah of a massive improvements in the team after shambolic results recently.
Speaking in an interview with Citi. Sports, Stephen Appiah said, “For what I saw against Chad and Madagascar and the friendlies, the Unity Cup that we played in the UK against Nigeria and Trinidad, it has given me a lot of hope because the new players who came showed themselves well.
Appiah was extremely hapy with the performances of the new players in the Unity Cup which was staged in London.
“So yeah, I am very convinced that we still have four games to play, but when you do the calculations, nothing tells me that we are not going to qualify,” he added.
Ghana will resume action in September where they will continue their quest for the USA-CANADA-MEXICO slot.
