Brentford initially demanded £65M from Manchester United for Cameroonian forward Bryan Mbeumo. The Red Devils wanted to pay around £55m with the rest being add-ons, but Brentford quickly rejected the offer. It has been more than 4 weeks since the two English clubs started negotiations for Mbeumo, but they have yet to reach an agreement.
The Guardian Sport has reported that Brentford has raised the price of their star forward to 70 million. Mbeaumo, 25, has been so sensational since joining the London-based club from a French side in the 2019 summer in a deal worth 6.5 million euros. In a space of 6 years, Brentford are about to sell him for more than 10 times the amount they paid.
Mbeumo scored 20 Premier League goals and provided 7 assists in 38 games, where he was alongside the Congolese forward Wissa, the main men of Thomas Frank’s team.
Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Newcastle all showed interest in the forward, but he decided that Manchester United is his dream club.
Brentford have completely weighed all the signings made by the other clubs in the ongoing transfer window and has decided to increase the price because they rate him much higher than most of the 55 and 60-million-pound players.
