At Karlo, a community in the Suaman District of the Western North Region, a 23-year-old woman is alleged to have pushed her son into a well, killing him.
It is reported that, while the Assembly Member of the area was reporting the incident at the Dadieso Police Station, the suspect, Akua Afriyie, arrived claiming her son had accidentally fallen into a well.
After establishing that Afriyie was the mother of the boy, she was subsequently arrested, as initial police interrogations and eyewitness accounts suggested she may have deliberately pushed the child into the well.
