A student of Zuarungu SHS of the Bolgatanga East District in the Upper East region has allegedly escaped with a rifle from a policeman.
The suspected student is said to have managed to escape while he was being transported to the police station along with three other students.
The arrest was made during the recent violent clash between the Gurune and Kusasi students on Sunday, July 20, over an alleged mobile phone theft.
According to reports, the altercation escalated into a full-blown brawl, resulting in the burning of some school structures and heightened tensions across the campus, leading to the closure of Zuarungu SHS.
The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for the unidentified student.
