Clement Gmayun is reportedly involved in several cases of mobile money fraud and hacking of WhatsApp accounts, impacting victims in the Accra and Central Region.

Individuals with knowledge of the situation claim that Gmayun has been secretly managing several account takeovers and unauthorised withdrawals from MoMo wallets.

His techniques are said to include social engineering strategies to access victims’ WhatsApp accounts, which are subsequently used to ask for money from unaware contacts.

Several people who spoke to GhanaCrimes on the condition of anonymity reported that they have filed complaints with the Ghana Police Service and are requesting prompt investigations and increased public awareness.

The Ghana Police Cybercrime Unit has not issued an official statement, but the public is advised to enable two-step verification on WhatsApp, be cautious of phishing attempts, and report any suspicious activity to the police or their mobile network provider without delay.
