The lifeless body of a 65-year-old Alexander Kwaku Boateng, a private security guard, has been identified at Ojobi in the Central region.
He was allegedly suffocated as his head was wrapped in a plastic bag, while his hands and feet were tightly bound.
Kwaku Boateng is believed to have stood in the way of the assailants who tampered with an electricity transformer situated at a site he guarded.
The suspects allegedly made away with several electrical cables valued at an estimated Gh¢250,000.00 from the transformer.
The apparent motive was theft, executed with cold precision and deadly intent.
Four suspects believed to be linked to the crime have been apprehended by the Gomoa Ojobi District Police command following an intelligence-led operation. Four additional suspects are on the run.
