Kurt Okraku’s time as the Ghana Football Association is about. It will come to an end in October 2028, when the constitution says no one should be the president of Ghana’s football Association for more than eight years.
However, plans are underway by KurtPkraku and his entourage to go for a third term, which is completely against Ghana’s Football Constitution.
Former GFA Chairman Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has warned Kurt Okraku and Ghanaians about the plans to extend his term.
“I warn that history has repeated itself in several instances in this country, and we don’t seem to take note of that.
“If we are not careful, this can create a big problem, because citing the downfall of the former GFA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi, my very good friend, I attribute it to this particular thing he wanted to do would have an impact on his downfall.
“Now, to me, anyone who wants to stay in power perpetually, especially by twisting the constitution to suit their interests, is a danger to the organisation and the society”, Nyao said.
The dangers of the decision to go for a third term by Kurt will be enormous, as it will certainly divide the Ghanaian football fraternity.
Many are disappointed with how things have panned out during Kurt’s administration, with many calling it a failure because there has been no improvement.
