Dr. Louisa Ansong-Satekla, wife of award-winning Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy, has strongly responded to social media claims suggesting her husband was seen picking up $1 bills at Nigerian artist Davido’s high-profile wedding ceremony.
The allegations emerged after a short video clip from the lavish event went viral, sparking mixed reactions online.
The footage, which circulated widely on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok, shows Stonebwoy bending down briefly during the celebrations.
While some online commentators alleged that he was collecting dollar notes thrown during the “money-spraying” tradition common at Nigerian parties, Dr. Ansong-Satekla has firmly debunked the claims, calling them baseless and driven by malice.
“You can clearly see his diamond bracelet fall off and he bends to pick it up, but because of evil and mischief you choose to believe he picked $1?” she posted on X.
“Some people’s mindset really explains a lot about who they really are… smh.”
The incident took place during Davido’s much-talked-about wedding to his longtime partner Chioma Rowland, an event attended by a host of African celebrities, politicians, and business moguls.
Davido had $3million wedding with his wife Chioma in far away Miami in Florida, United States.
Stonebwoy, who has collaborated with Davido on music projects in the past, was among the distinguished guests invited to the occasion.
Stonebwoy, marriage to Louisa Ansong-Satekla in 2017 drew national attention, with the dental medical practotioner consistently playing an active role in defending her husband against public criticism.
Louisa’s swift reaction appears aimed at stopping the spread of the false story before it gains further traction.
