Ruben Amorim is under immense pressure to deliver for Manchester United. The young Portuguese manager has yet to sell his style and philosophy to the Manchester United fans in the last nine months since replacing Erik Ten Hag from Sporting Lisbon.

Manchester United announced Amorim as the new manager on 1st November 2024, and he has been there long enough to let the players understand his playing style. Things look the same, looking at how they struggled at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon in London against Fulham Football Club.

Fans and club legends of Manchester United are beginning to get worried about the 40-year-old’s methods and have been expressing their displeasure towards him.

BBC football pundit Wayne Rooney has warned Amorim to up his performance or face an early sacking by the club. Speaking to the BBC Sport, Wayne Rooney said, “There are no excuses now for the manager this season”.

“He’s got to start getting results and getting them quickly. Once you start getting into October or November, if results don’t change drastically, that’s when the pressure comes”, he continued.

“They needed to hit the ground running this season, and one point from six is a bit of a worry”, Rooney revealed.

Manchester United looked so glamorous in their opening game against Arsenal, where they exceeded expectations and played so well, but lost 1-0 to Calafiori’s first-half header.

In the second game of the new season, Manchester United looked good in the first 13 minutes and collapsed from there, where Fulham took over. The game ended 1-1, where only a point was won out of six by the Red Devils.

“It’s difficult to say this is going to be our manager for the next five years based on what we’ve seen”, Wayne Rooney concluded.

The former striker and playmaker for Manchester United has cast doubt over Amorim’s future, saying he doesn’t see the Portuguese spending five years at Old Trafford, looking at how things are panning out.
