The murder of 38-year-old Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah has taken another twist with news of the death of a third suspect in the case.

The incident, which has gripped national attention since July, is now unraveling with chilling details about how the prime suspect, Bright Aweh, allegedly masterminded and executed the crime.

The Disappearance

Amoah was reported missing on July 3, 2025, after telling his nephew he was heading to Ashongman Estate to visit a friend, later identified as Bright Aweh, to collect money owed him.

That was the last time he was seen alive.

Six days later, on July 9, 2025, his charred body was discovered at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya, sparking an intensive manhunt and investigations by the police.

How Bright Allegedly Plotted the Crime

Investigations have revealed that Bright carefully engineered the circumstances around the crime.

On the morning of the incident, he instructed his wife to leave the house on an errand, ensuring she was not present.

He also spoke to his upstairs neighbour, who was preparing to leave for work, and advised him not to return home early, claiming he would be fumigating the house because of a “funny smell” in the compound.

When the neighbour offered to contribute money for fumigation chemicals, Bright declined, insisting he would take care of it himself.

In another suspicious act, Bright had earlier confronted another neighbour about why his CCTV camera was facing his compound.

That neighbour later installed a 360-degree camera, which captured three motorbikes entering Bright’s compound before Amoah arrived. Their purpose and occupants remain unknown.

Amoah entered the house but never came out. However, Bright’s car was later seen leaving the compound, though it is still unclear what it carried.

A Disturbing Digital Trail

After Amoah’s disappearance, a series of suspicious WhatsApp messages were sent from his phone.

The messages read: “I have received the money, my wife is not around, so today I am going to chase girls.”
Investigators believe these messages were not sent by Amoah but were part of an attempt to cover up his murder and mislead relatives.

Arrests and the Mysterious Death of Suspect

Police later arrested Bright as the prime suspect. His arrest led to the detention of Thomas Zigah, alias Nii Jaase, and a third unnamed suspect.

However, in a shocking development, the third suspect reportedly died after a short illness.

The deceased’s brother, Kwasi Amoako, confirmed the news, telling Citi News:

“We went to court and I can confirm that the third suspect has passed on. I was told by the Police CID, the one who is in charge of the case. We thank God that our brother has started seeking justice for himself.”

The police have not yet released an official statement regarding the death, but the development adds a new dimension to a case already steeped in mystery and controversy.

The Family’s Call for Justice

The family of the late Amoah has consistently demanded a thorough investigation and swift prosecution of those involved.

They argue that the crime was not only premeditated but also carried out with chilling precision, and only a transparent process can bring closure.

Ongoing Investigation

With Bright in custody and the death of one suspect, investigators are under pressure to unravel the full details of the murder, particularly the role of the mysterious motorbikes and whether others were involved in Amoah’s killing.

The case has shocked the nation, not only because of the brutality of the act but also due to the calculated nature of the plot.

However, as investigations continue, the public and Amoah’s grieving family await justice in a case that has become one of the most talked-about murder investigations in 2025.
