Ghanaian media figure Nana Aba Anamoah has stated that actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown should be recognised among the public figures who have received diplomatic passports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The government has recently received praise for its choice to grant diplomatic passports to certain celebrities who promote a positive image of Ghana to global audiences through their platforms.

In a popular video, Nana Aba stated that the host of Onua Showtime has made a notable impact both nationally and internationally.

The founder of the Women of Valour initiative emphasised McBrown’s capacity to impact lives and her dedication to advancing Ghanaian culture by using local languages in the media.

I would have chosen Nana Ama McBrown without hesitation, as she has a notable influence in the diaspora.

She is well-regarded among Ghanaians living overseas, and her influence in the Ghanaian communities around the world is significant.

I believe there should have been representation from that group, the speakers of the local language.

It is important to include representation of local languages, such as Wiyaala, to avoid giving the impression that only English speakers are involved.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently honoured five Ghanaians in the creative arts industry with diplomatic passports, which has divided opinion among Ghanaians.

Wode Maya, Ibrahim Mahama. Anita Erskine, Rocky Dawuni and Dentaa Amoateng were the five Ghanaians honoured.
