Eleven West African individuals who were deported to Ghana have retracted an ex parte injunction request they had submitted to the High Court against the Ghanaian government.

Attorneys representing the deportees informed the Labour Division of the Accra High Court that the motion is no longer relevant since their clients were returned to their home country over the weekend.

However, there is still a significant case regarding a motion to enforce human rights.

The 11 individuals are requesting a court ruling regarding what they claim is an unlawful detention that violates their human rights.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the lead counsel for the 11, requested that the court handle future urgent applications with appropriate care.
