Police officer Clement Suputour, who damaged a young woman’s ear during an interrogation at the Tema Community 8 police station, has now been promoted.

Almost a year ago, Crime Check TV Gh reported on an incident involving Suputour, who had inflicted this injury on an innocent pregnant woman, Judith Yaa Kuma.

She had visited the police station to see her boyfriend, who had been arrested for armed robbery, and was wrongfully identified as a suspect in the crime—an accusation later deemed false by the court.

In an attempt to coerce her into confessing, Suputour brutally tortured her with a paper clipper, resulting in part of her ear being cut off.

Following the public outcry, the former Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, dispatched a high-ranking team to apologise to the victim’s family and vowed that Suputour would face consequences.

However, recent inquiries reveal that Suputour is now stationed at the Tema Regional Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service and has received a promotion.
