JS Kabylie have a healthy lead ahead of the second leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

The Algerian side won 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg, putting Bibiani Gold Stars, the champions of Ghana, in a tight corner.

Many connoisseurs of the game have written of the Ghanaians, but JSK’s German tactician Josef Zinnbauer has rejected that claim.

“You saw the game, we led the game and we got back and we were too lazy and we unconcentrated and if we are not careful then we can lose again,” Josef Zinnbauer, in an interview with Pan Africa Football, said.

“If you underestimate the team, you cannot do [that], Champions League is Champions League, and every team is good.

“Now we have a game at home and we hope we can get the result for the next game.

“The Champions League is a good exercise for us, so an improvement for us. We have young players, we have experienced players, we have players who don’t play Champions League now, and I think this is what we need.

“We have the result now on our side, and we have to manage the home game; it will not be easy, but it’s possible,” he concluded.

Ghanaian clubs’ biggest bogey sides are from Algeria, historically. They have failed to deal with them, especially in Algeria.

Gold Stars must quadruple their efforts to stand a chance of even recording a drawn game.

JSK will host Bibiani Gold Stars at the Hocine Ait Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou.
